Who made it
Renan Gobbet Hernandez
From a first NLP course right after high school to a voice coach that fits in your pocket.
NLP came into Renan's life right after his senior year of high school. He didn't yet know what career to pursue when a friend mentioned a Neuro-Linguistic Programming course, and it caught him instantly. The two of them were the youngest people in the room, and after the first weekend they were hooked.
From then on, NLP became the path. Renan trained as a Practitioner and Master Practitioner at PAHC in Brazil, and went on to complete his Trainer training with Robert Dilts at NLP University in Santa Cruz, California, the same line NLP set out from in the 1970s.
For more than 14 years he has also guided people down waterfalls on rappel. At the edge of the drop he learned in practice what NLP teaches in class: fear lives in the map, and a good question, asked in the right tone, changes the next step.
Renan is also a musician. He writes and records at home, on his own instruments and with his own voice, moving between jazz, soul, blues and electronic music. Music tuned his ear for what a good conversation depends on most: rhythm, pause and tone of voice. Pacing and leading, in NLP, is a lot like playing together.
Mapaterra brings those schools together. It's his way of bringing NLP into everyday life: a voice that asks better questions, at the moment you need them, in English and in Portuguese.
